My Review of the WW SmartOnes Dragon Shrimp Lo Mein (5 pts)

Yum! Not too liquidy and a decent amount of noodles, shrimp, peas, and carrots. A little almost-kick from the mild soy-garlic sauce, but a definitely yummy one.

A+

Sorry that I’ve been so quiet the past few days…

We’ve been dealing with a stomach bug, so both the hubby and I have been laying as low as possible whilst keeping our 19-month-old entertained.

On the bright side, I had a good loss when I weighed in yesterday...

Getting closer to my 10% goal of 263.3 lbs!

My Review of the WW SmartOnes Tuna Noodle Gratin (5 pts)

I’d give this one a rating of either a high C or low B.

It didn’t taste bad, but it also didn’t have much of a taste, and almost seemed a little watery to me. I’m sure I could have added *something* to it to give it a little more taste, but as-is it was nothing to brag about.

I still might get it again though…depends on how big my list gets! ;-)

Whee!

Ever have one of those mid-week weigh-ins that just really get you motivated and doing the happy dance!

I weighed in this morning, just out of curiosity to see how I was doing, and found that I’m 20 lbs lighter than I was on 5/31/06 - whoopee!

Now let’s see how my official weekly weigh-in looks on Monday… *crosses fingers AND toes*

My Review of the WW SmartOnes Three Cheese Ziti Marinara (6 pts)

Another delicious discovery! There’s actual cheese in it, and the sauce isn’t runny, nor the pasta tough to chew, and it was better than some home-made versions I’ve tasted before!!

Definitely gets a grade of A+ from me, and definitely goes on the shopping list for next time! :-)

Thanks to Shay for suggesting 2 additional flavors to add my shopping list - the Fettucini Alfredo with extra broccoli cuts and the Chicken Enchiladas Suiza.

My Review of the WW SmartOnes Thai Style Chicken & Rice Noodles (5 pts)

For the 2nd day in a row, I’ve been impressed by WW’s frozen meals.

This one actually makes me miss the Thai Restaurant I used to live down the street from! Definitely another flavor that I won’t mind buying again in the future! :-)

(Seriously, if you’re in the Marietta, GA, area, check out the Lemon Grass Thai Restaurant - they’re AWESOME!)

Ya know...

…Weight Watchers’ SmartOnes frozen meals are actually pretty yummy, even if they are more expensive than Healthy Choice!

On my grocery shopping trek over the weekend, I picked up 7 different SmartOnes meals, and yesterday tried the Ravioli Florentine (5 pts) and loved it. It was fairly filling (of course, I also tend to cut on ravioli squares into 4ths so that it takes longer to eat and adds to my feeling full) and definitely a flavor I would try again…

Today I brought Thai Style Chicken & Rice Noodles (5 pts), and I’ll be sure to report my opinion this afternoon after lunch :-)

On the topic of scales…

I lost another 1.5 lbs last week and am now down to 275.5 as of this morning’s weigh-in, which makes me 17 lbs lighter than I was on my initial 5/31/06 weigh-in - go me! :-D

Introducing…my new scale!

My old scale wasn’t always the easier to use - if you moved *just* slightly, it would give you an error. The scale I bought from Avon last year was even worse - it was consistently 10 lbs off, in one’s favor at least, but still, an unreliable scale is not a good thing to have around.

So…I bought a new scale while I was doing a grocery run at Wal-Mart yesterday:

Taylor Body Fat Analyzer & Scale, Model 5571

Increased body fat has been linked in studies to an increased risk of breast cancer. Using this Taylor Body Fat Scale will help you to monitor your overall body health. By focusing on body fat, body water and weight levels, you can monitor your body health plus your risks of breast cancer over time. Taylor only uses bio-electrical impedance analysis, the most accurate home method of calculating body fat so you can be confident in the results time after time.

  • Comes with “Understanding the Risk” pamphlet
  • Measures body fat to the 0.1%
  • Measures body water to the 0.1%
  • Athlete or normal mode: Athlete mode is important for those exercising more the 12 hours per week
  • Simple scale-only mode

  • Lifetime warranty

Help fund the fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer. With the purchase of this scale, Taylor Precision Products will donate $1 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Read more about this organization at www.bcrfcure.org.
